Equipment & Shotguns:
12 gauge shotguns are used for all collegiate competitions. Many Yale shooters bring their own firearms for use while on the team. For those who do not own shotguns or who do not wish to bring them to Connecticut, the team owns several skeet and trap guns that have been donated through the years. All guns are kept in secure facilities when not in use. Team gear, including Yale shooting vests and attire, are available for purchase by team members. All other shooting equipment and accessories are the responsibility of individual shooters.
Yale University strictly prohibits firearms or ammunition on its campus. Similarly, Yale students living off campus are not allowed to keep firearms or ammunition at their place of residence. Team members wishing to transport a firearm to and from campus are advised to contact Coach Migdalski to make arrangements for transport and secure storage of the gun that is in accordance with Yale regulations and local, state, and federal laws. In most cases, it is best to ship the gun to our local gun shop where it can be picked up and taken to storage.
