Practices

The Yale Skeet & Trap Team practices on Friday afternoons at our private facilities at the Yale Outdoor Education Centerin East Lyme, CT.  Our shooting facilities, which include two skeet fields (American and International Skeet) a trap field, a five-stand sporting clays course, trout pond, and clubhouse, are approximately a 45-minute drive from Yale’s campus in New Haven.  We practice throughout the school year, weather permitting, with competitions throughout the fall and spring semesters.  The team practices all the disciplines in which we compete: American skeet, international skeet, American trap, and five-stand sporting clays.  At the collegiate level, 12 gauge shotguns are used for all competitions.

Practice costs include shells, targets, and a small transportation fee.  These costs, as well as cost of travel to competitions, are paid out-of-pocket by team members.
